Addyson Dru Dimmick Born 7/3/2011

Addyson Dru Dimmick was born on July 3rd, 2011 at 10:05pm.  We were very close to having a 4th of July baby.  Jess just couldn't quite make it.  lol.  Jess had been having contractions for 3 weeks and we were starting to think that she would never come.  I was also getting very tired of keeping the secret.  I can't believe that I made it.  I didn't tell a single person that Addyson was a girl even though I have known for months.

I had just taken Mya to go to Petsmart to pick up Libby.  We were giving her a hair cut and a bath in preparation of Addysons arrival.  I got a phone call on the way home that Jess was having serious contractions and that I needed to get home quickly so that we could call the doctor.  We were advised to go ahead and come on in and they would check her to see how close the baby was.  I called a few of my friends in hopes that they woudl be able to watch her for a few so that Jess and I could go.  Ashley and Mark offered to watch her over night but we couldn't wait for her to get in to get her so I called a few people before they answered the phone and we were able to get someone to watch her.  Mike, Shelby, Brandon and Stephanie came to the rescue and we rushed her next door.  We were then off.  I think I was more nervous than Jess was.  I floored it all the way to the hospital.  The whole time Jess was next to me telling me to calm down and to slow down a little.  haha.

We got to the hospital and since it was a sunday we were instructed to the ER desk.  It seemed like an eternity before we got someone to take us up to Labor and Delivery.  ( I am sure it was only a matter of minutes).  We went up stairs and met Lisa.  She was the nurse that checked us in.  She was also our friends nurse that had their baby a month before us.  She remembered us from when we were visiting which I thought was kind of cool.  They checked Jess and monitored us and told us that we would not be leaving the hospital.  At that point I realized that this was actually going to happen that night.  I was very excited.

The next few hours are kind of a blur.  It seemed to go really quickly again.  Jess was in quite a bit more pain this time than with Mya and she was refusing to do the Epidural.  I kept trying to talk her into it because I don't like seeing her in that much pain but she really wanted to do it without.  She did however take some of the pain medication that seemed to help a little bit but not much.  We tried many different positions to make her comfortable but it just wasn't happening.  We finally moved to her standing up beside the bed and swaying back and forth.  I told her that she can never tell me that I don't dance with her again.  lol.  I don't think this is what she had in mind.

Her water finally broke after a couple of hours of the doctors telling her that she just wasn't quite there yet.  I am glad it finally did because I don't know how much more she could have taken.  When it finally broke it was like a whirlwind blowing through our hospital room.  Doctors and Nurses bring in supplies and running around trying to get ready for our little bundle of joy.  When the Doctor came in she was trying to calm us down and to get ready for what was to come.  I am sure she has heard it all before but I have never heard some of the words and combinations that Jessica was screaming out of her mouth.  The doctor told her that she could say anything she wanted and call her any name she wanted but she had to not kick her.  That was her only rule.  lol.  I think this has happened before.  Well Jess took full advantage of being able to say anything.  I swear that she would have made a Sailor blush.  When it was all said and done I was in tears not only because Jess was in pain but because my new baby girl had joined us in the world.  They let me break the news to Jess that it was a girl.  It was a long night but definatly worth every second.  Here are a few pictures of our new little girl...I have also attached a very cute video of Mya and Addy.  I think she really loves her new little sister.
